Apprentice Training Programme History
The Apprentice Training Programme was started in 2002 by members of our Hands & Voices choir.
They decided that they wanted to share their skills and to help other people learn how to sing and sign and the Apprentice Training Programme was born...
In 2013, we launched our young apprentice programme with funding from Youth Music. Members of our IMPs (Inclusive Music Projects) programme now work alongside our music leaders to lead fun, inclusive music workshops in a range of settings. And in 2015 our AbleWeb York team started delivering community media workshops. Helping others to gain the skills and confidence needed to safely access information online.
The Apprentice Training Programme has become one of our core areas of work and we now have a continuous development programme in place for our fantastic apprentices.
