What is Sensory Drama?
Sensory Drama is a new Friday morning session. It’s a development of our previous Sensory Extra project, adding a drama offer to our music, movement and visual arts activities.
Who is it for?
Sensory Drama is a weekly session for local adults with disabilities, from those with moderate learning difficulties to those with higher support needs.
What happens in Sensory Drama?
Sensory Drama uses stories, puppets, costume, props, mime and make-up. Group members have fun exploring different elements of drama each week. Sessions include group activities alongside individual one-to-one activities and everyone has the chance to share their work with the rest of the group.
The Sensory Drama team use Intensive Interaction techniques to help group members unlock and explore their interests and talents. And the group works together to choose styles and themes that they’d like to explore
When: Fridays 10am – 12 noon
Where: Burton Stone Community Centre
Cost: £5 per session (subsidised places available)
