Putting the fun into fundraising

Fundraising comes in all shapes and sizes and doesn’t have to mean putting yourself through your paces in the gym. In fact, it can be a whole load of fun and we’ve got the fundraisers to prove it!

Lauren raises a quiz-tacular total at Buffy-themed quiz

You’ll normally find her behind our fundraising stall at events or holding an AAM collection bucket at the supermarket. But our very own Lauren decided to try something different this Halloween and hosted a Buffy the Vampire-themed quiz at her local pub.

The 1990’s TV show has long since finished, but that didn’t stop teams from heading down to try their luck! Before the quiz started, Lauren asked people to donate the cost of a pint, or what they could afford, to take part and raised a total of £141. Not bad for a night down the pub!

Another success for fundraising heroes JNJS Classic Soul

JNJS Classic Soul know how to throw a great party, and their event on Saturday 11th November was no different. The fundraising heroes have raised over £20,000 for causes around York over the years. They run 6 fundraising events a year at the York Hospital Club and this year's final one was in aid of AAM. They ended the year on a high note, raising an incredible £455 for Accessible Arts & Media. How fab is that?

Here's how you can put the fun into fundraising

We want to take part in next year’s York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge and need a fab team of rowers to help make that happen. Can you help?

Our Sea’s the Day team absolutely smashed it back in 2022 and were one of the most inclusive teams on the water. You can read all about them here. We’d love to do it all over again and would like to hear from anyone who’s looking to set themselves a challenge and get involved in next year’s race.

We’ll be finalising all the details in the coming weeks. If you’re interested in taking part, please fill out this simple form and we’ll be in touch with more information.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for inspiration or want to know how to get started with your own fundraising event, head to our Fundraise for AAM page.
