We're recruiting!

At Accessible Arts & Media we’ve been running inclusive arts and creative media learning projects in and around York since 1982. We’ve got a vision for a more inclusive society, where everyone gets the chance to shine, and our work’s built around the belief that everyone can learn, everyone can be creative, and everyone can play a part in their local community.

A lot of different people take part in our projects, from disabled adults and young people to older people living with dementia and memory loss and people with mental ill-health. We also work with schools, community groups and local businesses. We create a supportive, fun environment that inspires and motivates people to explore the world around them and to learn and express themselves through creativity.

We're looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic Learning & Participation Coordinator to join our IMPs (Inclusive Music Projects) and Hands & Voices programmes. IMPs is a year-round inclusive music programme for disabled and non-disabled children and young people and Hands & Voices is an inclusive community choir for adults with learning and communication difficulties. Both programmes also include training programmes where participants learn to be workshop leaders.

The Learning & Participation Coordinator will coordinate the programmes. They’ll oversee learning, development and participation opportunities for participants and coordinate performances and events. We’re looking for an exceptional, enthusiastic worker who’s passionate about helping disabled young people and adults achieve their full potential.

This post is offered full-time, 37.5 hours a week, on a salary of £22,500 pro-rata and is subject to an enhanced DBS check. The postholder’s time will be split across the two projects, working three days a week on the IMPs programme and two days a week on Hands & Voices.

Full funding for the post is confirmed for 12 months, until March 2021. Funding for the IMPs element of the role is confirmed from the National Foundation for Youth Music until December 2022. We’re committed to securing further funding for the Hands & Voices element of the position over the next 12 months, to maintain the role as a full-time post over the three years.

Closing date for applications: Mon 17th February at 5pm
Interviews will take place: Thursday 5th March in York.
