AAM launches Crowdfunder campaign
Help us shape the next chapter of Accessible Arts & Media
After more than 40 years of bringing people together through music and creativity, Accessible Arts & Media (AAM) is facing an uncertain future. We're launching an urgent £40,000 fundraising appeal to help protect our activities, our community and the opportunities that make AAM so special.
An important crossroads for AAM
Following the loss of anticipated funding and changes within our leadership team, we are facing significant financial challenges. Earlier this year, we made the difficult decision to temporarily pause activities while our Trustees reviewed our financial position and considered the options available to us.
Activities are now restarting, but our longer-term future remains uncertain.
We want to do everything we can to protect the opportunities, friendships and community that AAM has built over the past 40 years.

More than the music
For many participants, AAM is much more than a weekly activity. It's a place to spend time with friends, develop confidence, express themselves and feel included and valued.
Last year alone:
181
people took part in our core programmes, including 61 new participants
650
sessions were delivered
2,100+
opportunities were created for people to connect, participate and create
Behind these numbers are friendships, achievements and a sense of belonging that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

Help us raise £40,000 by Christmas
We've launched an urgent public fundraising appeal to give AAM the strongest possible chance of continuing its work.
Donations will help us support our charitable activities and essential running costs, including specialist facilitators, accessible spaces, equipment and resources.
But this appeal is about more than keeping activities running in the short term.
The funding will also give us vital breathing space to secure new funding, develop partnerships and explore how AAM can operate sustainably in the future.

Our Trustees are actively reviewing expenditure, considering different ways of delivering activities and exploring opportunities to work with organisations that share our commitment to inclusive arts and community participation.

Thank you for standing with us

AAM has been part of York's creative and inclusive community for more than 40 years. That has only been possible because of the people who have participated in our activities, shared their skills, supported our work and believed in what we do.
We're enormously grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.
Help us keep inclusive music alive in York.
