AAM’s new Social and Events group are off to an AAM-azing start!

This September, we launched an exciting new group at Accessible Arts & Media. We got participants and volunteers together to create a fabulous Social and Events group. Their job is to keep an eye out for fundraising opportunities and events that they’d like to get involved in. And it's our job to help make their ideas a reality.

Eager to raise money for AAM, they’ve wasted no time in getting stuck in! For their first event, they got busy in the kitchen and made lots of delicious cakes and buns for our ‘Can we ceilidh? Yes, we can!’ event. When they weren’t singing on stage or handing out leaflets, they were taking orders for tea and coffee in the kitchen – very busy bees indeed! 

And what a fantastic first event it was! Altogether, their tea and cake stall raised an incredible £239, and we couldn’t be prouder! 

What’s next?

The group meet up once a term to chat about fundraising opportunities, ideas and events they might want to put on. Then we work with them to help them make the most of their brilliant ideas. There’ll be lots of other opportunities to get involved as well, such as supermarket bucket collections, busking or helping us on fundraising stalls. 

The next meeting will be held at the beginning of January 2024.
