Another AAM fundraising success!

On Sunday 9th July, we headed down to the banks of the River Ouse to set up our fundraising stall for the day. We were there as part of the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge, only this time we decided to stay on dry land, rather than competing on the water. They gave us a great spot to cheer the racers on from the North Bank Gala, just by the finish line!

Our fantastic team of volunteers helped Community Fundraising Coordinator Lauren throughout the day. From setting up to selling things and talking about AAM, they were fabulous and the day wouldn’t have run so well without them.

Our Fundraising Stall with plants and name the teddy fundraising games

Instead of a tombola, this year we decided to try something different and sell plants that were kindly donated. These were a hit, as was the glitter face painting we had on offer – there were even queues at times!

Once the races had finished, it was time to pack up and take stock of what a wonderful day we’d been a part of. The smiles, the energy, everything was fab. To everyone who stopped by to chat, bought a plant, got their face painted or donated – thank you. Thanks to you, we raised over £250 that will go towards our creative and wellbeing projects.

And, of course, a huge thank you to the York Rotary Club for having us and putting on another incredible fundraising event.
