Buskathons still going strong after 20 years!

On Saturday 17th December, our fabulous buskers took Coppergate and its Christmas shoppers by storm. Armed with festive favourites, Santa hats and huge smiles, our guys absolutely rocked.

Hard to believe our yearly Buskathons have been going for an incredible 20 years! They began after talks with our Hands and Voices Committee; a committee set up so the choir members could have more of a say in running their project. They wanted to help raise money that could go back into Hands and Voices and other AAM projects.

And the rest, as they say, is history!

The choirs sang and signed their way through two epic sets to an audience of shoppers, friends, and family. And it wouldn’t have been an AAM Buskathon without our firm festive favourite ‘I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas’.

AAM staff got in on the fun too by wearing some festive, and not-so-festive costumes! Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of fancy dress, would it?

Everyone had a wonderful time and Hands & Voices and IMPs really did bring the festive cheer. What’s more, they raised an incredible £961 and with sponsorship still coming in, that’s set to rise!

It would be ace for them to smash £1,000 in donations – they're so close! Why not help them get there by donating today?

A massive well done to our fantastic Buskers. We’re looking forward to Christmas 2023 already!
