Easter adventures with IMPs Holiday Clubs!

Our adventurous IMPs Holiday Clubbers have been busy this Easter. On Monday 3rd April, they went on a journey to explore Java and learn all about Gamelan instruments.

And explore they did!

A boy sits and plays a drum from Java

They went through the rainforest, feeling its mist as they made their way up to the volcano. They listened to the sounds of the drums as the volcano exploded all around them.

And they even had time to stop off at the market and learn all about the different fabrics and colours you might find in Java.

All the while, the sound of the Gamelan could be heard, sometimes loud, sometimes soft, sometimes slow and sometimes fast!

We had two sessions aimed at different age groups and while the theme was the same, they chose to explore Java in their own way. Everyone had a blast!

Then on Friday 14th of April, our IMPs Holiday Clubbers enrolled in Rock School. We had wigs, scarves, sunglasses, and inflatable instruments to really get into the mind of a rockstar.

We started by learning about the different instruments you might find in a band before playing lots of fabulous solos.

Then we got the projector out to see a real rockstar in action and study their moves and swagger - which had our junior IMPs joining in with a rocking out session of their own!

Once they’d learnt the moves, the Senior IMPs finished with a beautiful soundscape worthy of an encore – we loved it

Miss out on the adventure this EasterDon’t worry, we’ve got another exciting IMPs Holiday Club up our sleeves! This time, we’re hopping aboard the IMPs Express, and you’re invited!
