Heritage Hunters magazine launch - celebrating the people, stories and histories of Clifton
The iMUSE for Wellbeing team were delighted to support the launch of the latest Heritage Hunters magazine at Clifton Explore on Saturday 4th July, alongside our partners at York Museums Trust and Clifton Explore. The magazine celebrates the rich history, people and stories of Clifton.

The community event on Saturday 4th July brought people together at Accessible Arts and Media in Clifton Explore to explore local heritage through creative activities. These included a collaborative map project where visitors added their own memories, words and drawings to create a shared picture of Clifton's past and present. Throughout the event, visitors also experienced one-to-one iMUSE sessions, combining calming music, immersive visuals and relaxation techniques to promote wellbeing and encourage moments of reflection.
The iMUSE for Wellbeing experience also celebrated the local Clifton area through specially curated video footage of familiar landscapes and places, creating opportunities for reflection, connection and wellbeing through creativity.
As part of the project, participants from iMUSE for Wellbeing and the Art for Wellbeing programme at York Art Gallery came together for a series of creative drawing workshops with the Heritage Hunters team. Exploring archive materials, local memories and the history of Clifton, participants responded through drawing, with a selection of their artwork featured in the latest Heritage Hunters magazine.
The event highlighted how creativity, heritage and wellbeing can come together to strengthen community connections, celebrate local identity and support positive mental wellbeing. It was wonderful to meet so many local residents, families and partners and to share the benefits of creative health in such an inspiring community setting!
