Join us for our Big Birthday Bash!

We’ve kept it under wraps for long enough, so it’s about time we shared the news.

It’s a not-so-secret-secret that this is a huge year for AAM. We’re turning 40, our Hands & Voices choir is 25 and our IMPs programme is 10 years old! And what better way to celebrate these massive milestones than with a special gig?

Our Big Birthday Bash will be at 2pm on Saturday 29th October at Temple Hall, York St John University. And we’d love to see you there!

We’ll be performing alongside our good friends from Communitas Choir and York St John University. One of our longest-standing partnerships has been with York St John University (since 1992!), so it seemed fitting to choose them as the setting for our Big Birthday Bash.

You can expect to hear old favourites and original numbers, guaranteed to get you on your feet. We’ll also be taking a trip down memory lane and showing some of our favourite AAM films. We’ve had a lot of fun digging through the archives and there was plenty to choose from – 40 years is a long time, after all!

If you’re coming to the gig by car, please note that there’s no parking on site. There are three car parks within walking distance of the University - Union Terrace, Monk Bar and Bootham Row. You can find details on where to find them on the City of York Council website. Once you're on campus, there'll be signs to direct you to Temple Hall.

The gig is Pay What You Want - it's free to get in and we'll be taking donations on the day. So we know how many cakes to order, please let us know if you plan on joining us by filling out this simple form.

We're super excited about our extra special gig and can't wait to celebrate with you!
