Stress Awareness Month 2023

April is Stress Awareness Month. With that in mind, we’ll be taking a look at our iMUSE for Wellbeing programme and how it can help with stress and anxiety. Throughout April we’ll be sharing the positive impact iMUSE can have, from the people who take part. Keep an eye out on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

What is stress?

Mental health charity Mind describes stress as

'Stress is how we react when we feel under pressure or threatened. It usually happens when we are in a situation that we don't feel we can manage or control.'

What is anxiety?

Anxiety UK describes anxiety as:

‘A feeling of apprehension or dread in situations where there is no actual real threat and is disproportionate to the situation facedUnlike stress, anxiety persists even after a concern has passed. In some cases, anxiety can escalate into an anxiety disorder and can affect day-to-day life.’

Stress and anxiety are completely natural but can sometimes feel overwhelming. And that’s where iMUSE comes in.

Our interactive iMUSE technology puts the power back in the hands of the user – you.

In a 30-minute session, you’ll work one-to-one with one of our trained facilitators, who’ll help you design your session. Our therapeutic, multi-sensory experience provides a safe space for you to feel more grounded and relaxed while listening to your favourite music. Some say it’s like having your very own musical hug!

iMUSE can help ease the symptoms of stress and anxiety, leaving you feeling calmer and more relaxed once the session is over.

Participants who benefit from the programme have said:

“I usually leave and I feel my lungs can get air inside again – I feel I can do it –anything’s possibleit gives me more confidence to feel I CAN do things”

“I found it really helpful. I have PTSD and CPTSD and I’m on lots of medication. I’ve come in to help with relaxation. After my first session the affect was incredible and I did not need nearly as much medication the day after.”
