Super Summer Sum up!

What a summer we’ve had! The sun may have been hiding away for most of it, but one thing is for sure – we’ve had a blast! From musical journeys to Swampville, to meeting lots of creepy critters, we’ve seen it all.

IMPs Holiday Clubs – a magical, musical adventure for everyone!

IMPs Holiday Clubs have been a massive hit this summer. We love welcoming new people, as well as seeing familiar faces return to join in the fun.

It’s hard to pick a favourite session out of the five we’ve had over the summer, as the themes were all so different. We had an IMPs Disco, a journey to Swampville, got theatrical with Thunk-It Theatre, had a sensory trip to the circus and ended with the IMPs Olympics! Phew!

One of our favourite things is that we got a chance to see our friends from Concrete Youth and Thunk-It Theatre in action. They brought exciting props, fun games, and instruments along to bring their ideas to life – and we had a blast!

Summer Socials – Fab interactive fun!

Summer Socials were back with a bang this year, bringing friends together to explore and make music.

The lovely Mags from Creature Ark was back with a host of creepy critters and cute furry animals. Mags came along to introduce some of her four (or sometimes lots more!) legged creatures. We got to learn all about Monty the Python, stroke his Guinea Pig friends and even got to hold a tarantula!

Mags was ace at making sure we all got a chance to meet the animals. Some of us were braver than others with the creepier critters and all in all, it was great fun!

We got to try our hand at Gamelan this summer too, thanks to the University of York and Gamelan Sekar Patak. Katie was fantastic at teaching us how to strike the different instruments and together we made a beautiful soundscape.

If you missed it, here’s a wonderful video of the sounds we made together:

Fun with York Theatre Royal

Our friends at York Theatre Royal invited us to run two holiday clubs and we were happy to get involved!

Working with the theme of Comedy and Fun, we raided the dressing-up box and got to work on creating our own characters. We spent the next two hours exploring the characters through sound effects, catchphrases, songs and more. We even managed to squeeze a performance in at the end – it was fab

Hard to believe that autumn term is just around the corner. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with lots of ace activities. Check out what we’ll be up to on our calendar.
