What A Night to Remember!

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that ‘Big Ian’ Donaghy will be able to pull a crowd, and this year was no different. On Thursday 14th September, crowds gathered to fill every seat at York Barbican for one of the biggest events in York’s fundraising calendar.

Celebrating its 10th year, A Night to Remember hosted a line-up of some of York's finest musicians and acts, including our very own Hands & Voices.

The choir were incredible, as always, and got one of the biggest standing ovations of the night with their rendition of the ABBA Medley. It was ace to see them perform in front of the 1,400-strong audience again – we couldn’t be prouder!

Here they are in action:

The fundraising night began 10 years ago with an aim to raise vital funds and awareness of dementia causes and other charities around York, including AAM and St Leonard’s Hospice.

Every year, the night gets more and more love, attracting support from the likes of music starKaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson and Sam Ryder among others.

Everyone digs deep every year, with the event raising an incredible £24,000 last year alone! Can that be topped? We’ll have to wait to hear from Big Ian himself once all the pennies have been counted.

Well done and thank you to everyone who performed on stage – you were ace! A massive thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, cheered us on in the crowd and donated on the night – you rock! And finally, a huge thank you to Big Ian for inviting Hands & Voices to take part, for supporting Accessible Arts & Media over the years and for putting on an incredible night.
