IMPs (Inclusive Music Projects)
IMPs is a year-round programme of fun, inclusive music activities for children and young people from York and the surrounding area. You can find out more about all the IMPs activities below.
You don’t need any previous musical experience to take part and we support everyone to get involved and express themselves in the way that works best for them.
Senior IMPs is a weekly, inclusive music group for young people aged 11+.
At Senior IMPs you can learn to sing and sign in our choir, make music in our band and train to be an apprentice workshop leader.
IMPs Outreach Workshops
We run music workshops in schools, youth groups and community settings around York.
Workshops are co-led by the IMPs trainees, disabled and non-disabled young people who are training to become workshop leaders.
IMPs Holiday Clubs
We run fun inclusive music workshops during the school holidays for children aged 5-10 and young people aged 11+.
Junior IMPs in Local Primary Schools
Inclusive music groups for under-11s, delivered in primary schools.
At Junior IMPs, children learn to sing and sign, learn basic phrases in sign language and make music.
